The kitchen helper is responsible for assisting the chef and other kitchen staff in preparing and cooking food in a restaurant or food service establishment. They may also be involved in dishwashing, cleaning and organizing the kitchen, and other tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the chef
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware
• Receive and store food supplies
• Help with inventory management and stock rotation
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen

Skill Sets:

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines from the chef
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods of time
• Attention to detail and cleanliness
