Job Description: Instrumental Technician

The Instrumental Technician is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, repairing, and troubleshooting various types of instrumentation and control systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting. They work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly to meet production needs.

Responsibilities:

• Calibrating and maintaining a variety of instrumentation devices such as pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature controllers, and level sensors
• Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate
• Diagnosing and repairing instrument failures in a timely manner to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly
• Collaborating with engineering teams to install new instrumentation systems and integrate them into existing control networks
• Documenting all maintenance and repair activities to keep accurate records of equipment performance and compliance with regulations

Skill Sets:

• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles as they apply to instrumentation systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer manuals
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting tools and diagnostic equipment to isolate and resolve instrument issues
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions
• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and convey technical information clearly
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for working with electrical and mechanical equipment in an industrial environment
