A painter is responsible for applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces of buildings, furniture, and other structures. They work both indoors and outdoors and may work on residential or commercial properties.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
• Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired hue
• Apply paint or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
• Protect surrounding areas from paint splatter or damage
• Inspect surfaces for imperfections and make any necessary repairs
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations at all times

• Ability to mix and match colors accurately

• Physical stamina and strength to handle long hours of standing and painting
